Building Blocks

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matt 19:14

Helping children build their faith one building block at a time.

At Tyro Christian church, we are passionate about presenting deep Biblical truth in crazy and creative ways that your kids will love! On Sunday mornings, kids will have a blast making new friends and learning God’s Word from funny skits, wacky games, and amazing Bible teaching. With a dynamic mixture of large and small group times, every Sunday morning is packed with fun interaction, creating an atmosphere where kids experience God in a way they will never forget.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Hey Kids and Parents! We're thrilled to invite all 1st-6th graders to join us every Wednesday night from 6:30-8:15 PM for "Love in Action," our exciting new series that dives into the book of 1 Corinthians. In this series, we'll explore important topics like kindness, jealousy, division, and insecurity, and learn how to put "Love in Action" in our daily lives.

Each week will be packed with engaging and fun activities, inspiring stories that bring the Bible to life, and games that reinforce our lessons. We'll also introduce a new memory verse every week to help us remember God's word, with 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 as our overall semester verse.

It's a fantastic opportunity to grow in faith, make new friends, and have a blast! So, mark your calendars, invite your friends, and get ready for an amazing time filled with laughter, learning, and love. We can't wait to see you there and share this incredible journey with you!

The Goal:

The Children's Ministry aims to empower kids to become disciples who make disciples.

TCC Children’s Ministry seeks to provide opportunities for children to focus on others instead of themselves. We believe molding children's faith is vital to God’s church.

Training kids in the way they should go according to the teachings of the Bible...

Tyro Teens

At Tyro Teens, your student will find a great place where they can learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ as we mature in small groups and serve our community.

Sunday mornings:

Ten:10. This is our Sunday school hour, we have classes for Jr. High boys, Jr. High girls, as well as a class for High schoolers. We have cereal, or some other breakfast food item out at 10:00 or so for some fellowship time before we go to classes at 10:10. We also really like John 10:10 as an overall theme for this time!

Wednesday nights:

301 happens at 6:30, where we start with dinner and fun time, then at 7 we go into large group for worship, games, and a hard-hitting message aimed at pointing our students towards Christ. The students are then dismissed to small groups (separated by grade and gender) with small group leaders who want to play a consistent role in your student's life and partner with you in raising them up to be disciples who make disciples.

We do a lot of stuff outside of those things, like CIY, Getaway, The Event, and camps in the summer, so be sure to check out our Facebook page to keep up with that week-to-week information.

Parents, please also check out our Band app page to see some details in how we like to partner with parents.

Tyro Community Christian School

A ministry of Tyro Christian Church

Mission Statement:

The Mission of Tyro Community Christian School is to develop Christian character and leadership through purposeful work, earnest scholarship, vital participation, and Christ-centered living.

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" Isaiah 40:31

Accreditation:

TCCS is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International.  The accreditation process is a detailed in-depth look at every aspect of the school.  TCCS has been accredited since 1996.  In its latest report the ACSI accreditation team made the following observation about TCCS:

“TCCS is primarily comprised of dedicated families who desire a Christian education for their children. There is a family atmosphere at the school where everyone works together to “train up a child in the way he should go.” The staff and faculty of the school see themselves as “ministers” who are called by God to serve families at the school. It is the school’s stated goal to please God and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

History of TCCS:

Tyro Community Christian School (TCCS) was founded by a group of parents in 1985 as a ministry of the Tyro Christian Church. The school began as a K-6 elementary school.  Grades seven and eight were added in 1987.  In 1992 the school added grades nine through twelve.  The school was non-accredited for the first ten years of operation.  In 1996 TCCS was accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International.

TCCS has been blessed to serve the Lord’s Kingdom by providing a quality Christian education to students of all types.  Many TCCS graduates now serve the Lord as ministers, missionaries, businessmen, doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, housewives, engineers and a variety of other occupations.

While TCCS remains a ministry of the Tyro Christian Church, it maintains a policy of non-doctrinal instruction. A curriculum of Bible instruction permeates all grade levels with emphasis on knowledge of basic biblical principles. Students attending Tyro Christian School come from a wide range of Christian denominations and are taught by a qualified staff of Christian men and women.
